Cristiano Ronaldo got the fourth Golden boot award

Cristiano Ronaldo received the prize "Golden boot" - the fourth in his collection. Due to the possession of the four trophies 30-year-old Portuguese who plays for Spanish club "real Madrid", set a record: no one before him had managed to get the Golden boot award more than three times.

The awards ceremony was held today in Madrid. Earlier the award was handed to Ronaldo in 2008, 2011 and 2014. Besides him, the owners of a prestigious athletic awards are such stellar players as Lionel Messi (who already has three "boots"), Francesco Totti, Thierry Henry, Luis Suarez and others.

"Golden boot" awarded each year to the best scorer of the national Championships of the countries entering into UEFA. The prize is awarded since 1968, its first winner was footballer Eusebio - also, incidentally, from Portugal.

After receiving the award, Ronaldo posted on my Instagram:

This is a special moment in my professional life! To win four "Golden boots" is a great privilege, but I'm not going to stop there because we want to achieve even better results and deliver more records. Thank you all in "real Madrid", who helped this to happen. We will continue to win titles and trophies. Thank you all.

We will remind that quite recently, Ronaldo was also named as the best player of "real Madrid" in the history of the club.
